We all love our pets, and they are a huge part of our families! Seventy percent of households in the US have a pet. Unfortunately, the insurance companies don’t like them as much as we do, due to their liability regarding dog bites. There are 4.7 million dog bites per year in the US.
Consequently, that is the reason insurance companies have rules on what type of dogs are allowed. The higher risk dogs are not allowed due to the statistics and more likelihood of dog bites. A part of our insurance cost is for dogs. Therefore, we pass that cost on to only the people who have dogs because of the possible situation of a dog bite. It would be unfair to make everyone in the park pay for the increased dog insurance expense.
An example being, we had a “non-aggressive” dog bite in one of our parks. If a claim would have been filed, our insurance would have gone up, thus being the whole reason for our dog fees. And, unfortunately, when this happens the dog must be removed from the park. We hope you understand.
